1. Undisturbed, Naturally
Every spring Dogwood Gallery hosts a nature photography competition, “Nature, Undisturbed,” which is a celebration of the natural world. In 2011, 75 photographers from 10 different states submitted more than 500 images for consideration in the competition that benefits the Southern Conversation Trust. Only 55 photographs are judged into the exhibit each year. This photography competition has become so popular that plans are already under way for the 4th annual event in March 2012. Interested photographers should submit entries by Dec. 17, 2011, for consideration. Details of the event can be found at natureundisturbed.com.

2. Grinchmas with Ann Jackson
It’s Christmas time in Roswell, and we all know what that means. It’s time for Ann Jackson Gallery’s Annual Dr. Seuss Holiday Show. With the help of Thing 1 and Thing 2, the gallery will turn into Whoville. As one of only 30 galleries in the world licensed to represent the Art of Dr. Seuss, they will be bringing out all of their favorite Dr. Seuss art pieces as well as many never before seen Seuss art works. Grinchmas Holiday Celebration & The Art of Dr. Seuss will take place on Saturday, Dec. 10, noon–8 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 11, noon–5 p.m. And of course it would not be complete without the serving of Green Eggs & Ham and Seussitinis!
