1. KAYLA TAYLOR
Marietta native Kayla Taylor has been described as “Bette Midler meets Diana Krall.” She’s performed everything from gospel to rock ‘n’ roll, but these days, it is jazz she loves the most. “I love jazz and standards from the 1940s and 1950s,” she says. “I always have…this is the music I was born to sing.”
A five-year veteran of the Georgia All-State Chorus, Taylor has studied classical piano for nearly a decade. She’s also studied voice with a number of celebrated instructors including Jan Smith, Linwood Harrison and Dee Knapp. Today Taylor performs at the Paper Mill Grill every other Thursday with guitarist and business partner Steve Moore.
Taylor belts out the classic tunes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Ella Fitzgerald, and her smooth vocals set the perfect mood for dinner and dancing. Be sure to catch Taylor and Moore at one of their favorite local haunts in December as they perform some jazzy Christmas tunes from the 1930s, ’40s and ’50s.
