Orthopaedic Hand Specialist
With all of the recent advances in orthopaedic surgery and treatments, there are more and more options for people living with chronic pain in their hands. Dr. Christopher J. Walsh of Resurgens Orthopaedics is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in treating patients with debilitating injuries and chronic conditions of the hand.
The Resurgens Orthopaedics practice is a large, multi-location group offering a full spectrum of orthopaedic care. The name Resurgens is the Latin word for “restore,” and Dr. Walsh takes great pride in restoring pain-free function to his patients.
Being without the full use of your hands can be extremely debilitating. Many hand conditions cause an enormous amount of pain and disability. One of the most rewarding parts of Dr. Walsh’s job is being able to restore patients to the way they were before their injuries or conditions.
“It is very rewarding to see the improvements that people make and see them get back to the activities that they enjoy,” Dr. Walsh says.
Dr. Walsh has many years of expertise treating patients with conditions ranging from arthritis, nerve compression problems, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendon issues, traumatic injuries and fractures.
Dr. Walsh is on the cutting edge of the latest surgical techniques for the hand. Much of the surgery Dr. Walsh performs is done on an outpatient basis, and is often performed with nerve block anesthetic, rather than general anesthesia.
Resurgens has an outpatient surgery center for patients in Morrow, giving patients the comfort of having procedures done in an office-type setting away from the hospital. Dr. Walsh sees patients on the Southside at the Fayetteville and Morrow locations of Resurgens.
